The 2019 Penn State Football Banquet is going to be one redshirt junior Nick Eury remembers for a long time. At the end of the night, head coach James Franklin had a surprise for the Nittany Lions running back.

At the end of Sunday’s banquet, Franklin surprised Eury by announcing that he’d be on scholarship moving forward. It was an incredible moment in State College, and Eury was unable to contain his emotion after hearing the news.

Below are some photos from the announcement:

Eury joined the Penn State football program in 2016 as a walk-on. He redshirted in his first season, and has seen limited action during his time in Happy Valley. He’s played in two career games for the Nittany Lions, and his only action of the 2019 season came in the season opener against Idaho.

In the season opener against the Vandals, Eury took six carries for 44 yards and scored on an eight-yard run in the fourth quarter. He also appeared in Penn State’s win over Georgia State in 2017, taking one handoff four yards.

Eury has been rewarded for his hard work, attitude and effort during his four years at Penn State. It’s always cool to see these kind of moments in college football.
