The Grey Cup, the CFL’s championship game, was contested on Sunday between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Toronto Argonauts. The Blue Bombers entered the game having won the past 2 league championships.
And a former Rutgers wide receiver played a big part in the game for Winnipeg. Janarion Grant, who was with the program from 2013-2017, was back to receive a punt with the Blue Bombers up 17-14 early in the 4th. And the ex-Scarlet Knight took it 102 yards to the end zone (Canadian football features 110-yard fields, not 100 as in the U.S.) as Winnipeg extended its lead:

Unfortunately for Grant and the Blue Bombers, the Argonauts scored the next 10 points of the contest to eventually win 24-23 and clinch an unprecedented 18th title.
Still, it was a great return for Grant nonetheless. We’ll see if he and his team can bring the championship back to Winnipeg in 2023.
