Former Michigan State star Jaren Jackson Jr. made his 2020-21 debut on Wednesday night, and looked like he hasn’t lost a step.

The talented big man totaled 15 points and eight rebounds in 18 minutes of action. It was his first playing time in almost a year since he suffered a knee injury in the NBA bubble last August.

Jackson Jr. had a breakout second season with the Grizzlies, averaging 17.4 points per game. He hit a remarkable 39.4 percent of his 3-point attempts on 6.5 tries per game.

He has one of the most unique skillsets in the NBA, and is a potential star-in-the-making for the Grizzlies alongside point guard Ja Morant.

The Grizzlies are currently the No. 8 seed in the western conference, which means fans should get to see Jackson Jr. in the postseason this year. If the standings hold, Memphis would play in the NBA’s play-in tournament before potentially facing Utah or Phoenix in the first round.

The Grizzlies’ next game is on Friday against the Blazers
