Javon Leake gets Maryland on the board with scorching kickoff return TD

It doesn’t look like Maryland will be pulling off an upset of Michigan, but Javon Leake provided some fireworks for the homecoming crowd.

The Terrapins rebounded nicely after falling behind 14-0 early. Their defense stepped up and nearly forced a chance to get the ball back with a chance to cut it to a one-possession deficit ahead of halftime.

Unfortunately, Michigan used a fake punt and late first-half touchdown drive to build a 21-0 lead at the break. Coming out of the half, the Wolverines tacked on two more scores.

It wasn’t all bad news for the Terrapins with Leake ripping off a huge kickoff return after the last touchdown. He took the kickoff 97 yards for the score and put an end to the shutout.
