Jaxon Smith-Njigba will be out for another game it seems. ESPN’s Pete Thamel got the news from his sources.

Smith-Njigba has had a hamstring injury since the season opener against Notre Dame. He did some see time against Toledo, bringing in 2 receptions for 33 yards receiving. However, Smith-Njigba has not played since then.

Despite Smith-Njigba being out of the lineup as of late, Ohio State has still played at a high level on offense. Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka have stepped in and done a fine job. Cade Stover has also emerged as a solid option at TE.

C.J. Stroud has not let his the absence of his star receiver get him down. Stroud has 1,222 yards passing through four games. The Ohio State offense is averaging 558.8 yards per game this season as well.

Ohio State has never lost to Rutgers and is 8-0 in the series. Last year’s meeting was a 52-13 blowout in Piscataway.

Ohio State-Rutgers kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
