Jaxon Smith-Njigba made his return after not playing in a game for Ohio State since Week 3. It looks like it’s going to be short-lived.

Fox Sports’ Jenny Taft reported that Smith-Njigba is going to be doubtful to return to the game after speaking with Ryan Day at halftime. Smith-Njigba caught 1 pass for 7 yards before he was unable to come back into the game.

Taft stated that there was no injury to report.

Like most of the season, Ohio State has not needed its leading receiver from 2021. The Buckeyes are sitting comfortably in front of Iowa.

Miyan Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr. have both found the end zone so far. The Ohio State defense also caused a pick-6 in the first half as well. Harrison is currently second on the team in receiving yards behind Emeka Egbuka.
