Jay Bilas has Indiana going out early in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

On Monday, Bilas published his prediction for each game during the NCAA Tournament. He has No. 4-seeded Indiana bowing out in the 1st round against upset-minded Kent State.

Here’s Bilas’ analysis on the 1st round matchup:

Indiana wins a seven-game series, but Kent State is very good, has been able to hang with Houston, Gonzaga and Charleston, and this is the type of game that the higher seed can get tight when the little guy hangs around.

As Bilas noted, Kent State has acquitted itself very well against high-level teams this season. It lost by 5 to Houston and 7 to Gonzaga — both on the road — during the 1st month of the season.

The Golden Flashes also enter this weekend on a hot streak. They cruised to the Mid American Conference Tournament title and have won 6 games in a row.

A 1st-round exit would be a very disappointing end to Indiana’s season. The Hoosiers have won 22 games already, which is their highest win total since 2016. IU also exited the tournament in the 1st round last season.

Indiana and Kent State will tipoff at 9:55 p.m. ET on Friday evening.
