Michigan State is on the board and fighting hard to get back in the game against Rutgers.

The season opener and head coaching debut for Mel Tucker did not start swimmingly for the Spartans. Fortunately, the offense woke up after two quick turnovers and converted a crucial fourth down.

Facing a 4th-and-1 from midfield, Spartans quarterback Rocky Lombardi completed a short throw to Jayden Reed. The throw had Reed short of the first-down marker, but he put a beautiful move on the Rutgers defender to get free.

After that, Reed was off to the races for the touchdown:
