Purdue’s wide receiver depth will be tested the rest of the season.

Mershawn Rice and Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen are both out for the year with injuries, Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm announced on his radio show Wednesday.

Rice suffered a foot injury against Notre Dame and is undergoing surgery, Brohm said. He appeared in 3 games for Purdue this season, totaling 69 yards and a touchdown on 6 catches.

Yaseen played in 2 games this year and was injured in practice, but Purdue hasn’t said what exactly the injury is. He tallied 93 yards on 5 receptions, including a 43-yard catch against Illinois in Week 4.

Purdue is coming off a bye week and has a tough draw as it heads to Iowa City to take on No. 2 Iowa. Kickoff for that game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
