Purdue was supposed to challenge Minnesota Saturday afternoon at home and did that.
The most impressive part of the 38-31 defeat may have been how the Boilermakers did it. In the second quarter, quarterback Elijah Sindelar and wide receiver Rondale Moore went down on the same play. Neither player returned in the game.

Moore was an All-American as a freshman a season ago and Sindelar led the Big Ten in passing the first two weeks of the season (when he was healthy and active). In this game, Sindelar went 4-for-8 for 46 yards and Moore caught two passes for 18 yards.
Again, they left early and did not return.
After the game ended, Purdue coach Jeff Brohm was approached about an injury update on both players. He didn’t give away much:
Jeff Brohm on injuries to Elijah Sindelar and Rondale Moore: "Elijah, I’m not sure about. Probably not good. And Rondale, I’m not sure about."

Neither injury looked good — Moore’s especially. We’ll likely find more out this week about the dynamic QB-WR duo.
