Purdue has had numerous injuries plague its season to this point.

To start, linebacker Markus Bailey was lost for the year. Then, in the same game, starting quarterback Elijah Sindelar and All-American wide receiver Rondale Moore went out. Neither have returned since that late-September game against Minnesota.

There have been others, too, of course. But, those have certainly impacted the team’s performance. On Saturday, Purdue got a tight, late win over Nebraska 31-27. It came with a cost, though.

Again, Sindelar hasn’t returned since his injury and he was the starting QB at the time. In came Jack Plummer, the backup. Now, Plummer’s status appears to be in jeopardy due to an ankle injury.

Here’s Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm after the four-point win against the Huskers:

This, of course, is not good news. One positive is that Purdue — down to its third-string QB — won the game on a game-winning drive led by QB Aidan O’Connell. O’Connell is a sophomore who walked onto the program in 2017.
