Purdue is coming off a victory against the UConn Huskies, where they shut them out 49-0.

The Boilermakers, however, did not come out of Storrs, CT unscathed as RB Zander Horvath broke his fibula and is out for 4-8 weeks.

Tom Dienhart of Rivals and Yahoosports, writing for the GoldandBlack.com, provides more context on the injury:

Horvath, in 4 seasons with the Boilermakers, has been a monster for the team. He has rushed 200 times for 950 yards on 4.8 yards per carry and 6 touchdowns.

Horvath, has also been a threat in the passing game with 55 catches for 495 yards on 9 yards per reception and 1 touchdown.

This season before the injury, Horvath had 23 rushing attempts for 89 yards on 3.9 yards per carry and 1 touchdown. He had 4 catches for 11 yards on 2.8 yards per reception.

The Boilermakers are 2-0 to start the season with wins over two FBS opponents in the Oregon State Beavers and the UConn Huskies.

This season starts to heat up for the Boilermakers this weekend as they travel to South Bend, IN, to clash with the No.12 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
