Speaking with the media on Thursday in West Lafayette, Purdue Boilermakers head coach Jeff Brohm addressed the injury statuses of several key contributors.
Tom Dienhart of GoldandBlack.com shared Brohm’s comments on Twitter:
Jeff Brohm injury updates today:
• Cornel Jones: “Cornel will be a game-time decision. He hasn’t practiced a whole lot."
• Jared Sparks: "No. He’ll be out."
• Jalen Graham: "Game-time decision. He hasn’t practiced much."
• Rondale Moore: "No. Rondale probably will not go."— Tom Dienhart (@TomDienhart1) October 24, 2019

The most notable name on the list of mentioned players, sophomore wide receiver Rondale Moore has not played since the loss to No. 17 Minnesota on September 28.
Catching 114 passes for 1,258 yards as a freshman a year ago, Moore’s absence cannot be understated.
Looking at the defensive impact, junior linebacker Cornel Jones will miss his third straight game. Accumulating 23 tackles – including three for loss – before being sidelined, Jones’ presence would be helpful in Purdue’s attempt to slow down Illini redshirt senior running back Reggie Corbin.
Almost upsetting a ranked opponent on the road, the Boilermakers fell to the No. 20 Iowa Hawkeyes, 26-20, on October 19. At just 2-5, Brohm’s team does not have much wiggle room in their effort to reach bowl eligibility.
Illinois, on the other hand, is riding the high of the biggest win of the Lovie Smith era, a 24-23 triumph over No. 13 Wisconsin in Champaign.
Saturday’s action from Ross-Ade Stadium will kick at 12:00PM ET on the Big Ten Network.
