Purdue is off to a 5-3 start through eight games in 2021.
While many people can look at the offensive production by the Boilermakers, it could be the defense that has helped them more. One of the leaders of that defense is Junior linebacker Jalen Graham.
Graham has 26 solo tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and an interception on the year. Graham is also fifth on the team in solo tackles as well. Graham has averaged at least 20 tackles in two of his three seasons Purdue and has become someone that head coach Jeff Brohm can rely on.
Brohm praised Graham for his play so far this season in his weekly press conference.
Jeff Brohm on @JalenGraham17:
When scouts come in, I talk about him quite a bit. He’s played a lot of good football for us. He practices well. He doesn’t miss any action. He’s a competitor and wants to win. He’s had a lot of really good games for us, this was probably his best.

Purdue will need players like Graham to keep contributing this way as Michigan State is coming to Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday.
The Boilermakers (5-3) and No. 5 Spartans (7-0) meet at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
