Charlie Jones announced that he would be leaving Iowa for Purdue in May. Jeff Brohm already has an idea of how he will fit into the Boilermaker offense, it seems.

Jones played in 22 games while at Iowa. He also logged 323 yards receiving with 3 touchdowns in 2021 for the Hawkeyes. Brohm is very excited about adding Jones to his receiving core after losing David Bell and Milton Wright. Brohm stated that Purdue is very fortunate to have Jones on the football team.

Bell led the Boilermakers in yards receiving with 1,286 with 6 touchdowns , while Wright had 786 and 7 touchdowns. The Purdue HC is planning on using Jones on the inside and outside, as well as in the kick returning game.

Here’s what he said:

“We did lose our two top receivers so we gotta replace them,” said Brohm. “We were fortunate to get Charlie Jones on our football team… He’s a young man who’s been here all summer, and he’s a really good football player. I think he’ll play a great role at receiver (on the outside and inside) and returning kicks.”
