Jeff Brohm isn’t happy with the officiating again.
Late in Saturday night’s game between Purdue and Missouri, Boilers wide receiver Jared Sparks made a tremendous catch in the back of the end zone to give Purdue a fourth quarter lead. But the play was reviewed and the call on the field was overturned, ruling it an incomplete pass.
Purdue settled for a game-tying field goal, but Missouri marched down the field and knocked home a game-winning field goal to defeat the Boilermakers 40-37.

The decision to overturn the touchdown pass has been a topic of conversation since.
Brohm was asked about the catch during his weekly press conference on Monday. It’s clear that he believes Sparks caught the football and the call should’ve been upheld.
“From what I understand, it has to be conclusive,” Brohm said. “I didn’t see conclusive evidence.”

This is the second time Brohm has held a grudge against the officiating. At the end of Purdue’s Week 1 game against Northwestern, Lorenzo Neal was penalized for slamming running back Jeremy Larkin to the ground well after the whistle.
Brohm said the official told him Neal body-slammed Larkin. The Purdue head coach said he didn’t see a body-slam.
Purdue fell to 0-3 with the loss, all of which have come by four points are fewer. Saturday was the second straight time the Boilers lost on a game-winning kick, falling to Eastern Michigan in similar fashion.
