Nobody expected there to be a quarterback competition at Purdue. After David Blough led the B1G in passing yards per game last season, the starting job appeared to be locked up.
According to Jeff Brohm though, the Boilermakers are going to have multiple guys take snaps at the position.
#Purdue coach Jeff Brohm: Purdue will play multiple quarterbacks no matter what.

Monday, Brohm addressed the media, saying he will “play multiple quarterbacks no matter what,” as Purdue travels to Indianapolis to play No. 16 Louisville at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday. And, in fact, the Boilermakers haven’t made a final decision on a starting quarterback yet, either.
“We probably want to see one more day of practice before we make a decision internally,” Brohm said.
Blough passed for 3,352 yards and 25 touchdowns last season as the starting quarterback. Despite the big numbers, Blough struggled with his accuracy, throwing 21 interceptions over the course of the year.
Elijah Sindelar is expected to be in the mix, as well as Jared Sparks.
It will be interesting to see how Brohm rotates the quarterbacks and if each guy is used in a different capacity.
Brohm has said he wants to bring an interesting and exciting brand of football to West Lafayette. Playing two or three quarterbacks in the season opener is certainly intriguing.
