Jeff Brohm announced on Thursday that Purdue would be without a pair of key offensive players in the matchup with Iowa on Saturday.

King Doerue and Broc Thompson are both listed as out for this weekend’s contest. But, in a bit of good news for the Boilermakers, Dylan Downing, Cory Trice and Jamari Brown are all expected to play.

The continued absence of Doerue is a huge hit to the Boilermaker offense. Doerue led the team in rushing with 533 yards on 135 carries with a pair of rushing touchdowns last season. The senior RB rushed for 64 yards and a team-high 3 touchdowns before suffering a calf injury that has plagued him for several weeks.

Purdue will also be without the services of Thompson, who had a career-high 30 receptions and 457 yards in his first season with the Boilermakers after transferring from Marshall. Thompson was banged up in the Week 1 contest against Penn State and will miss his 8th consecutive game on Saturday.

The Boilermakers will face off against Iowa on Saturday at noon on FS1.
