The fumble that was controversial didn’t come in the fourth quarter, though. It was in the second. Every play matters in a game decided by just six points and the fumble by Amad Anderson Jr. may have changed how the game played out from that point on.
Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm didn’t think that he fumbled, but in the end, Iowa came away with the football and maintained its 6-0 lead. Had Purdue went on to score, the Boilermakers could have taken an early lead.
