Jeff Brohm updates status of two key contributors, QB situation

Purdue had its off week at the perfect time as this week they are on the road to face No. 2 Iowa.

The Boilermakers are 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in the B1G; they have a win vs. Illinois and a loss vs. Minnesota.

Head Coach Jeff Brohm spoke to the media today and gave an injury update on a few players.

TE Payne Durham and CB Cory Trice are expected to be back this week and play against the Hawkeyes.

Durham this season has 18 catches for 209 yards on 11.6 yards per reception and 3 touchdowns.

Durham was dealing with a concussion.

Trice for the Boilermakers this season has 4 tackles and 2 pass deflections; Trice was dealing with an ankle injury.

There are a few Boilermakers who are still injured and will not be playing Saturday.

WR Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseen is out this week, and RB Zander Horvath will most likely miss the game against the Hawkeyes.

Yaseen for the Boilermakers has 5 catches for 93 yards on 18.6 yards per reception and o touchdowns.

Horvath for the Boilermakers has 23 rushes for 89 yards on 3.9 yards per carry and 1 touchdown.

Horvath suffered a broken fibula in the week 2 win over UCONN.

This morning, the other news coming out of West Lafayette, IN., is that Brohm has not announced a starting QB this week.

QBs Aidan O’Connell and Jack Plummer have both played for the Boilermakers this season.

O’Connell is 66-0f-100 for a 66% completion rate, throwing for 743 yards, 4 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

Plummer is 82-of-118 for a 69.5% completion rate, throwing for 840 yards, 7 touchdowns and o interceptions.

Purdue goes on the road to face No. 2 Iowa at 3:30 ET on ABC.
