Jeff Brohm wants Purdue to bring ‘salty’ attitude to the field vs. Nevada

What does it mean for somebody to be “salty?”
Typically, at least nowadays, it means that person isn’t in a good mood. Maybe they’re angry or upset.
Jeff Brohm wasn’t talking about that type of saltiness when he mentioned being “salty” when talking about his team on Monday:
“In order for your food to taste well, it’s gotta have salt,” Brohm said. “That’s what preserves the food. As a team, we want to make sure we do our part to stay salty, make sure we’re doing the small things in order to win. We’re all in on this. We all understand the importance of it. That it’s going to take everyone digging deep…making sure we all stay salty”
What Brohm is essentially saying here makes sense. He wants his team to be all-in and do the small things for the team to work. It doesn’t take just one or two players to make a team great. It takes everybody — from the starting QB to the fourth-string defensive lineman that can play a couple different spots up front.
If Brohm’s team can do that, then the Boilermakers can have success not just against Nevada on Friday, Aug. 30 on the road, but going forward throughout this entire season.
