Jeff Sims is entering his first season at Nebraska after transferring into the program from Georgia Tech. By most accounts, Sims appears to be in a strong position to open the season as the starting quarterback for Matt Rhule this fall.

While Sims might be new to Nebraska, he recently landed an NIL deal with a local tractor dealership group. AKRS Equipment — a John Deere dealership group with 27 locations throughout Nebraska and Kansas — announced the partnership Monday evening.

“AKRS Equipment is proud to have a great partnership with Husker QB, Jeff Sims. Excited to support him and all Husker athletes this fall,” AKRS wrote in the announcement.

It goes without saying, but Nebraska has a rich history of farming and agriculture. That is even embodied in the revamped Herbie Husker mascot that was unveiled in April.

We’ll see how Sims fares on the football field this fall, but his latest NIL deal is one truly fit for a star of the Cornhuskers.
