Jeff Sims was listed as questionable to play for Nebraska in Week 3 as the Huskers take on Northern Illinois Saturday night, per the Huskers’ pregame availability report.
Should Sims not be able to play at QB Saturday, expect Heinrich Haarberg to get a look at the starting position. Haarberg has thrown for 13 yards and a touchdown this season in garbage time against Colorado.
Another option for Nebraska is sophomore QB Chubba Purdy, who has attempted just 1 pass this season.
Sims was the only player listed on Nebraska’s injury availability report.
Jeff Sims officially listed as questionable on Nebraska’s availability report. No other names listed.

Sims has been far from perfect at the helm of Nebraska’s offense this season, but he at the very least is a legitimate threat with his legs. Sims, who transferred from Georgia Tech this offseason, has rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown through the first few weeks of the 2023 season.
As far as passing is concerned… things could be better. Sims has thrown 4 interceptions already for the Huskers alongside just 1 touchdown pass.
Nebraska is looking for its first win of the season during Saturday’s home opener.
We won’t know for sure who starts at QB until 7 p.m. ET. The game will be aired on FS1.
