Jim Harbaugh has a true passion for football. Love him or hate him, that’s something that can’t be disputed.

Because of his attitude and outlook, you’d think he’d be the type of guy who would want kids on the gridiron as early as often. Actually, though, Harbaugh doesn’t necessarily believe that should be the case. Instead, the Michigan head coach thinks kids should be active in another sport.

“I always encourage youngsters in America to play soccer,” Harbaugh said. “Every American boy should play soccer until the eighth grade, then they should play football.”

Harbaugh said that the hand-eye coordination skills learned in soccer is something that would translate well to any other sport.

Harbaugh is one of the best minds in college football and is also one of the more passionate coaches around.

Don’t be surprised if a bunch of Michigan fans start signing their kids up for youth soccer now.
