Jim Harbaugh went biblical Saturday at the Rose Bowl during a College GameDay interview, comparing himself to Moses.
The answer was in response to Harbaugh being asked about the sign-stealing allegations against Michigan this season. Harbaugh already had to miss the final 3 regular season games as a part of his suspension. Just because Harbaugh and Michigan are in the Rose Bowl doesn’t mean the dad jokes won’t stop.
“Certainly doesn’t take anything away from us,” said Harbaugh about missing 6 games during the regular season. “You put some obstacles up and guys are going to overcome them. For me, personally, just to watch my coaches… You know, lead the team as head coach, and then Sherrone Moore go on the road, Happy Valley, into the lion’s den and win that game against a top-10 team.
“That’s how you feel for your brother, for your best friend, and I couldn’t be more prouder of our coaches and our players. Like Moses, I’m going to die leaning on my staff, and no one’s got a better staff to lean on.”
Though outside the original sign-stealing saga, Alabama wideout Isaiah Bond said that the Crimson Tide coaches told players to not use their personal tablets to view film. Bond claimed concerns related to security and potential sign-stealing with the technology.
Catapult Sports, the company behind an app that allows players and coaches to watch game film, released a statement on Friday confirming an investigation into “alleged unauthorized access” to college football film. However, they weren’t able to find any security breaches. Dan Wentzel reported that the investigation wasn’t centered on Michigan but on 1 other school instead.
Michigan and Alabama meet in the Rose Bowl on Monday at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
