The Early Signing Period for Class of 2019 recruits is under way and began on Wednesday.
For most teams, the majority of their recruiting classes have now been officially signed. At Michigan, the Wolverines have signed 25 of its 27 commits to this point.
Of those 25, Jim Harbaugh said on Thursday that he expects 8 of them to enroll early in 2019, giving them a leg up on the competition. The winter semester at Michigan is scheduled to begin on Jan. 9.
These 8 players are supposed to be ready to rock and roll in Ann Arbor by that date:
- Erick All — 4-star TE
- Zach Charbonnet — 4-star RB
- Cade McNamara — 4-star QB
- Gabe Newburg — 3-star DE
- David Ojabo — 4-star DE
- Jalen Perry — 4-star CB
- Mike Sainristil — 3-star CB
- Mazi Smith — 4-star DT
Being an early enrollee has many advantages. From just a time perspective, these players will be on campus by Jan. 9. That gives them more time to learn the playbook, work out the way Michigan exactly wants them to, making the adjustment to college life and a lot more than the other recruits, who will show up in the summer.
