Jim Harbaugh spoke at a Michigan radio show on Monday. He talked about how the running back rotation will look this season.

The top two RBs in the rotation are probably pretty obvious. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards will be the main runners in the backfield. Harbaugh discussed where Kalel Mullings and Ben Hall fit, however.

Mullings started off his college career in Ann Arbor as a linebacker. After being converted to RB, it looks like Mullings will be the third string in the rotation. That leaves Hall taking the last spot in the running back corps.

“Kalel Mullings is probably the third back,” said Harbaugh. “That’s going to sort out. Ben Hall is right there.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Mullings fairs in his new role. Mullings should be a powerful runner, coming in at 6-foot-2, 239 pounds.

Harbaugh will be serving game No. 1 of his three-game suspension in the season opener on Saturday. Jesse Minter is the acting head coach against East Carolina.

Kickoff will be at Noon ET on Peacock.
