First, it was former head coach John Beilein who gave his stamp of approval for Michigan hiring Juwan Howard to be the next basketball head coach. Now, Jim Harbaugh is throwing his support behind his decision.

Harbaugh tweeted out his support for Howard this week, and he’s pretty pleased that a “Michigan Man” is on the bench for the Wolverines basketball program.

“Congrats to Coach Howard & us! Happy to see a Michigan Man coaching the Michigan Basketball Team,” Harbaugh wrote on Twitter.

With Howard taking over the basketball program, both Michigan’s football team and basketball team are led by alums. Howard is just the second head basketball coach in the B1G to coach his alma mater, along with Purdue’s Matt Painter.

Michigan’s decision to bring Howard back to Ann Arbor has been well received by fans, alums and media. Current and former coaches are on board with the decision, too.
