Jim Harbaugh hypes up performance of Michigan’s defensive line

Jim Harbaugh knows Michigan has another elite offensive line this season, but that hasn’t slowed down the progress of the defensive line. Led by Kris Jenkins, Harbaugh had plenty of praise for the unit during the Big Ten Network’s bus tour.
In a sitdown interview with the BTN analysts, Harbaugh discussed the short-yardage session between Michigan’s line units in practice. To Harbaugh’s eye, it looked like the defensive line won the overall session while noting the offensive line is stocked with potential All-Americans.
“You saw it today, you were there for the short-yardage scrimmage. You saw a defensive line, there was a run wall there, and they were just going against the guys we just talked about as offensive linemen, potential All-Americans,” said Harbaugh. “…And that right there, who was winning those battles in your opinion? It looked like the defensive line most of the time in my opinion… The run wall from my eye looked like the defense won today’s battle.”
Along with Jenkins, Harbaugh particularly noted Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham as defensive linemen that shined. Other players that drew praise from Harbaugh included Derrick Moore and Braiden McGregor at Edge.
It has already been mentioned that this Michigan team is the most talented of Harbauh’s tenure in Ann Arbor. With that kind of balance in the trenches, it is no wonder the Wolverines have their sights set on a return to the College Football Playoff and potential national title.
