Things are looking positive for Chase Winovich and Berkley Edwards.
On Monday during his weekly press conference, Jim Harbaugh was asked about the statuses of his defensive end and running back after both suffered injuries in last week’s game against Indiana. From the sound of it, Winovich and Edwards are better than expected.
“Really, best possible outcome for both Berkley and Chase,” Harbaugh said when asked about the status of both players. “CAT scans were negative, X-rays negative for both Berkley and Chase. But, continue to evaluate every day.”

Both Winovich and Edwards suffered injuries after a few cheap shots from Indiana players, at least as described by the Wolverines. Winovich was down on the ground before a Hoosiers offensive lineman pounced on top of him.
Edwards was blindsided on a punt return.
Winovich was able to leave the field on his own power and walked immediately to the locker room. Edwards had to be carted off the field following the scary collision.
Not only is this positive news for both Winovich and Edwards, it’s great for the Wolverines with the trip to Ohio State coming on Saturday. Obviously, Harbaugh didn’t reveal whether the two will play this weekend, but it sounds like they’ll be on the field against the Buckeyes.
