When Michigan’s trip to Rome was all said and done, nearly everyone agreed that it was a remarkable experience.

Not only were those the words of the coaches and players, but B1G sites, national media outlets and even known Jim Harbaugh hater Paul Finebaum thought it was a tremendous experience for the student-athletes.

But just how highly did Harbaugh – the mastermind behind the plan – think of the experience to take his team abroad?

“It was the best thing I have ever been a part of on a football team,” Harbaugh told the B1G.

Harbaugh talked about the opportunity to eat new food, experience a new culture and enjoy a different environment while out of the country. He talked about a lot of the positives in this brief video:

Michigan enjoyed the experience so much that there are already plans to return to Europe next spring. The Wolverines are scheduled to visit Paris and Normandy.

Who would’ve thought recruits would be signing up to play college football and study abroad when they committed to Michigan?
