Jim Harbaugh previously said his NFL flirtations would not be an annual thing after returning to Michigan during the last offseason. However, the head coach of the Wolverines is expected to interview with the Denver Broncos this week.
On Monday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared the latest on the situation involving Harbaugh. According to Rapoport’s sources throughout football, Harbaugh’s interest in the NFL is once again serious, but there is a caveat.
Rapoport believes Michigan can make all the rumors and reports go away with a big-time extension for the head coach.

“Meanwhile, the Broncos are set to interview Jim Harbaugh, the still Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Have spoken to friends around the league and in college football, they believe at least his flirtation with the NFL is serious,” said Rapoport. “That said, Michigan could make this all go away if they give him a big money extension.”
Is Harbaugh eventually destined to return to the NFL, or will Michigan deliver a big-time contract to make Harbaugh one of the highest-paid coaches in the sport? We’re likely to find out in the days and weeks ahead.
