The Jim Harbaugh suspension saga took another turn late Friday night.
Earlier in the evening, it was reported that Michigan had officially filed a temporary restraining order in an attempt to halt the 3-game suspension given to Harbaugh by the Big Ten on Friday. Michigan also released a statement on Friday indicating its intentions to seek an emergency court order.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Dan Murphy, it will be judge Timothy P. Connors who presides over the case.
Connors, as it turns out, is listed as a lecturer for the Michigan law school. According to Connors’ Michigan Law bio, he has served as a state court judge since 1991.
If the temporary restraining order is granted in time, it’s possible Harbaugh will be permitted to coach on the sidelines on Saturday in Happy Valley. As it currently stands, Harbaugh would be suspended for that contest as well as the remaining 2 regular season games on Michigan’s schedule.
Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
