Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has been impressed with freshman receiver Andrel Anthony so far in fall camp.

Harbaugh told reporters on Friday afternoon that Anthony has made a habit of making big plays in practice since the spring.

“Andrel Anthony continues to make a play a practice,” Harbaugh said Friday, via MLive.com. “He’s on a streak. It’s like a Lou Gehrig hitting streak. He would do it in spring ball where, ‘wait for it; it’s going to happen,’ and he makes it. It is just a play a practice that’s a big chunk variety. He continues to be really good.”

Anthony was somewhat of an unheralded recruiting coming out of East Lansing High School in the class of 2021. He was a 3-star prospect and the No. 81 overall receiver in the class, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Michigan could use another dynamic receiver to help improve its offense. Ronnie Bell was the only Michigan player to clear 260 receiving yards last season.

The Wolverines should have an improved quarterback situation this year as well. Cade McNamara, 5-star J.J. McCarthy and Texas Tech transfer Alan Bowman are all potential options under center.

Michigan opens its 2021 season on Sept. 4 against Western Michigan.
