Jim Harbaugh cannot run from rumors tying him to the NFL and a potential return to coaching in the pros. Despite signing a contract extension after the end of the 2021 season, Harbaugh’s name is continually linked when NFL jobs open up.

Ahead of Saturday’s B1G Championship Game, FOX’s Bruce Feldman commented on the potential for another round of flirting with the NFL. Feldman went on to detail what he expects to be “a legit chance” Harbaugh takes a serious look at leaving his alma mater after 2023.

“I think it’s going to be another search for Harbaugh. I think there is a legit chance this may be his last season at his alma mater,” claimed Feldman. “Last year, he really flirted with the Denver Broncos job and ultimately he decided to come back because he wanted to coach this (2023 Michigan) team… all the guys who came back were a big part of Harbaugh deciding to stay one more year.”

As for the factors in play, Feldman pointed to the ongoing NCAA investigations surrounding Michigan and the fact that Harbaugh is indeed seen as “a really good NFL coach” around the industry. Feldman even believes it will be tough for Harbaugh to say no if he once again flirts with the NFL.

“Keep in mind: He’s got 2 NCAA investigations hanging over this program, and it’s not a stretch to think he may have another suspension if he’s the head coach there next year… People know he is a really good NFL coach if he goes that direction,” Feldman said. “…Don’t be surprised if Jim Harbaugh flirts again with the NFL for a third time and this time I think it will be really hard for him to say no.”
