Jim Knowles has created a solid defense for Ohio State, but one of the biggest concerns continues to be the cornerback position. This is an issue that coach Knowles wants to address as Ohio State is in a bye-week for Week 7.

Knowles opened up on the struggles with the lack of consistency at cornerback on Wednesday while talking to 11W’s Dan Hope:

“When you’re identifying in all three phases what needs to improve, the things we’ve done well, the things we need to improve on, I don’t think it’s any mystery that one of the things we’ve got to do is finish some plays out at corner,” Day said. “We’re right there. We just haven’t quite finished some of them.”

The Buckeyes’ defense ranks 8th in the nation in passing yards allowed per game (160.3). They also allow an average of 6.3 yards per completion, which is 6th in the B1G and 6th in passing efficiency allowed (118.2).
