Jim Leonhard confirmed that one of his running backs will be out indefinitely with a wrist injury. Chez Mellusi has been backing up Braelon Allen in the Wisconsin backfield this season.
Leonhard didn’t indicate how long Mellusi is going to be out for. Mellusi has played in six games for the Badgers this season and has 223 yards rushing with 2 total touchdowns.
Mellusi’s role may now be taken over by Isaac Guerendo or Julius Davis. Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on the news.
#Badgers Jim Leonhard confirms Chez Mellusi (wrist) is out indefinitely. Not sure yet how long. Notes safety Hunter Wohler not practicing yet but getting closer.

Wisconsin played incredibly well in Leonhard’s first game as interim HC. The Badgers dominated the Wildcats and won 42-7. The Badgers lost the last time that this game was in Evanston back in 2020.
The Badgers are now 3-3 with a lot of games left to go. The loss of Mellusi is going to hurt, but Guerendo and Davis still have plenty of experience. Guerendo has played in 15 games while Davis has 8 games under his belt.
Wisconsin faces Michigan State Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on FOX.
