Jim Thorpe Watch List includes four B1G defensive backs

Watch lists continue to trickle out this summer, as the start of the college football season continues to creep closer.
On Monday, four B1G defensive backs were included on the Jim Thorpe Award Watch List. Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State all had players mentioned on the preseason list, with the Wolverines being the only team with two names.
The Jim Thorpe Award is presented annually to the best defensive back in college football. A winner is selected from three finalists and will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN on Dec. 12.
Georgia’s DeAndre Baker was the winner of the 2018 award. Below are the four B1G names to be included on the watch list:
- Jordan Fuller, Ohio State
- Lavert Hill, Michigan
- Josh Metellus, Michigan
- Josiah Scott, Michigan State
