JJ McCarthy threw a 43-yard dime to Ronnie Bell coming out of halftime.

The big play was much-needed for a Wolverine offense that had mostly sputtered to that point. The play put the Wolverines in the red zone with a chance to cut into the lead.

After the catch, the Wolverine offense once again sputtered. 2 runs and then a loss of yards on another Bell catch led to a 21-yard FG try.

After the FG, the Wolverines still trailed 21-9.

However, McCarthy was not done going to his favorite target.

After the Wolverine defense picked off TCU QB Max Duggan, the Wolverines took over in Horned Frog territory. After gaining a 1st down after 2 runs from Donovan Edwards, the Wolverine offense got creative.

A flea-flicker was executed perfectly, with Bell wide open in the end zone for a 34-yard score.

The score made it a 21-16 game, with the Wolverines mounting a ferocious 3rd-quarter comeback.
