JJ McCarthy is scorching hot to start his 2022 season.
He carried momentum from Michigan’s win over Hawai’i into Week 3’s game against UConn. So far, McCarthy has thrown for 172 yards on 10 of 13 attempts. And his day is likely done. The Wolverines lead 38-0 at the half.
So far this season, McCarthy has thrown for 431 yards and 3 touchdowns on 25-29 passing splits. He’s also rushed for one score, adding 73 yards on the ground for good measure.
How about this pass on the run to set up the following score?

There will be more competent challenges for McCarthy in the near future. The Wolverines face Maryland next week in its B1G opener and are less than a month away from a likely top 25 matchup against Penn State on Oct. 15.
