J.J. McCarthy pulled out all of his tricks for the Penn State game. He was able to complete a pass while being hit in the backfield.

The pocket started to break down and McCarthy found himself faced with a Penn State pass rusher heading straight towards him. Instead of panicking, he found Blake Corum open downfield and made a clutch throw.

McCarthy might need to make more plays like this to beat the Penn State defense. The most points that the Nittany Lions’ defense has allowed since the season opener is just 14 to Central Michigan.

McCarthy’s play eventually led to a touchdown later on in the drive. Corum squeezed his way into the Penn State end zone on a 1-yard TD run.

The Michigan starting QB is looking good throughout the first half of the game.
