J.K. Dobbins has emerged as a pivotal part of the Baltimore Ravens offense in recent weeks. The former Ohio State running back looks to be a star in the making.

Dobbins was a second-round pick of the Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft.

And while his transition to the NFL hasn’t always been easy, the rookie running back is now a big part of a Ravens offense that has sparked a four-game winning streak heading into Week 17. The Ravens haven’t lost since being blown out at the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 12.

He has 645 rushing yards on 121 carries with seven touchdowns coming into Week 17.

Saying that “over the course of the year, I had to learn patience,” Dobbins went from being a little-used part of the offense in recent weeks as the Ravens’ go-to option out of the backfield (quarterback Lamar Jackson, notwithstanding.)

“When I was in high school, I watched a lot of guys like Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, Saquon, Zeke,” Dobbins said in a feature by CBS. “I was like, ‘, Man, I want to be one of those guys, like, just a legend.'”

Dobbins said that he hoped to someday beat Jackson, the Ravens’ starting quarterback, for the team’s rushing lead. Jackson has 908 rushing yards entering Sunday’s season finale.
