Joe Burrow is wrapping up one of the more memorable seasons in recent college football history.

The former Ohio State Buckeye turned LSU Tiger has led his team to a perfect record and No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. He also captured the Heisman Trophy after completing 77.9% of his passes for over 4,700 yards and 48 touchdowns.

During his Heisman ceremony, Burrow highlighted his hometown and background coming from Southeast Ohio. He touched on some of the economic struggles in the region, spurring many to send donations to an Athens County food bank.

Now, Burrow’s high school is taking the opportunity to bestow a special honor on the newest Heisman winner. According to ESPN’s Andrea Adelson, Athens High School is set to rename its football stadium in Burrow’s honor.

That is pretty cool:

The Athens City School District Board of Education announced Thursday that it has directed its superintendent and the Athens High School administration to change the name to Joe Burrow Stadium in recognition of his achievements.

Hopefully, Burrow can continue to play well in the CFP. Until he faces the Buckeyes, that is.
