Joe Milton’s Tennessee career is off to a quick start Thursday evening.

The ex-Michigan quarterback is now with the Volunteers and getting his first start in Knoxville against Bowling Green. He is already looking good and helping to get the Josh Heupel era off to a strong start.

On a short third-down play, Milton was able to punch in his first touchdown at Tennessee and the first for the Volunteers under Heupel. It was a read-option play that Milton kept and punched in from 4 yards out.

Check it out:

The first quarter of that game has concluded with Tennessee off to a 14-0 start behind Milton. He has completed 9 of 11 passes for 95 yards. Milton also has 5 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown.

It will be interesting to see how Milton looks once Tennessee hits SEC play.
