According to Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel, former Penn State offensive coordinator and now, new Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead’s deal with the Bulldogs is four year deal.
In those four years, Moorhead will make $2.7 million per year, which comes to $10.8 million overall. There are also incentives like $100,000 for a SEC title appearance and $200,000 for winning the SEC Championship.

Also, four year deals are state law in Mississippi. So, it’s not unusual to see Moorhead get four years.

Now, this is a light deal by SEC standards. But Moorhead was willing to take less for himself in order to get a larger salary pool for his staff.
