On December 29, several members of the Georgia football team fired off tweets regarding the College Football Playoff. With Notre Dame and Oklahoma getting blown out by Clemson and Alabama respectively, the Bulldogs thought it was proof they belonged in the four-team field.
All of that went away on Tuesday night, though. After suffering a 28-21 loss to Texas in the Sugar Bowl, Georgia’s players no longer have room to talk.
Following that disappointing performance from the Dawgs, FOX Sports broadcaster Joel Klatt couldn’t help but take a shot at the SEC East champion.
The reality for Georgia this season is the following
- 11 wins is fantastic
- You lost to the 3 best teams you faced
- Tougher on Twitter than you were in the Sugar Bowl

A lot of B1G fans are praising Klatt for that remark.
Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State were all in the mix for that fourth and final spot in the College Football Playoff. But the Buckeyes were the only team to pull out a win this postseason, defeating Washington 28-23 in the Rose Bowl.
Did the committee make the right decision? Probably so. But one thing is clear: Georgia can no longer complain about not getting that final bid.
