Just a day after the season’s conclusion, Joel Klatt dropped his way too early top 10 for the 2023 season. The list features some obvious favorites to repeat success while also throwing in some teams that might surprise.
Klatt put Michigan at No. 2 behind Georgia at No. 1. Apparently Klatt liked what he saw from the Wolverines, and he thinks that they are bound for another successful season behind JJ McCarthy and company.
He had Ohio State at No. 3 after the Buckeyes’ successful yet shortcoming season. Ohio State will have some challenges to overcome as they are expected to lose quarterback CJ Stroud, but with a loaded recruiting class, replacing the lost talent shouldn’t be too difficult.
The final B1G team featured on Klatt’s list was Penn State, who finished inside the top 10 in the final AP Poll following a Rose Bowl win over Utah. Penn State had a successful season but ultimately sat in the shadows of Ohio State and Michigan for most of the year. Perhaps 2023 could be the year of the Nittany Lions.
