Joel Klatt doesn’t think it’s time to panic just yet for USC fans. The analyst said on Thursday that, while it may be frustrating, the Trojans appear close to figuring things out.

The Trojans are sitting at 3-4 after starting the season with an impressive win over LSU. As Klatt mentioned, however, the Trojans have lost those 4 games by a combined 14 points.

“It is close. You can’t argue with that fact. That’s what the numbers suggest,” said Klatt. “4 losses by a total of 14 points? That’s close.”

The Trojans’ latest heartbreaking loss came in Week 9 against Maryland. The Trojans led 21-7 at one point and ended up losing 29-28. That was just 1 week after losing in overtime to Penn State.

Klatt also mentioned that this could be the lowest point for USC football under Lincoln Riley.

“The tipping point from losing small to winning small, it happens that quickly,” said the analyst. “You learn how to do it with all those young players and then, boom, you start to win football games.”

The next test for the Trojans will be in Week 10 against Rutgers. Heading back home could be just what the Trojans need to start a winning streak. As Klatt suggested, all it takes is 1 win.
