Joel Klatt is not shy about the current group of Ohio State receivers. In fact, he believes Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka have stepped into the vacancies of Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave while outperforming those NFL rookies.

“If you look at the two guys being replaced that are now in the NFL, the two guys who replaced them are actually doing a better job,” said Klatt during his podcast. “Whoa, wild, right?

“These two guys — Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave — were great players, and here we’ve got these other two guys that just step right in and take that torch and move it forward. It’s pretty remarkable when you think about it.”

Klatt also said a lot of that work comes back to Brian Hartline as the position coach at Ohio State. Klatt particularly highlighted what Hartline is able to do, not just as a recruiter, but as a developer of elite talent.

Klatt’s analysis also doesn’t get into an even better year from CJ Stroud at QB and his growth as a passer. Either way, the numbers at least back up Klatt’s claims with Ohio State’s receiver room still loaded and performing at an elite level.
