College football analyst Joel Klatt is a big believer in what Jim Harbaugh is doing at Michigan.
He went on Colin Cowherd’s show Wednesday and praised Harbaugh’s Wolverines squad for their dominate victory over Minnesota in Week 1.
Specifically, Klatt was impressed with new quarterback Joe Milton.
“What I saw last week from Michigan was the corner being turned offensively,” Klatt said. “Joe Milton is an incredibly talented guy. He’s huge, first of all. He’s got a quick release, one of the strongest arms in college football I’ve seen in the last four or five years. Stronger than Josh Allen and Justin Herbert. [Milton] throws absolute lasers and can run it pretty well … This may be Harbaugh’s best Michigan team.”
Milton finished 15-of-22 for 225 yards and a touchdown in the win. He totaled 52 yards and another score on the ground.
Klatt was also more than willing to give Harbaugh the benefit of the doubt for coming up short in recent years.
“Here’s one thing to understand about Jim Harbaugh,” Klatt said. “He’s just now adjusting. This adjustment’s been a little late, but if it comes to fruition, watch out.”
That’s a lot faith to put in a coaches’ improvement in Year 6, but time will tell.
The Wolverines are in action again on Saturday against Michigan State at 12 p.m. ET.
